The provided spikes were used, but the port plugs were not. The closest sidewall was about 2 feet from the right speaker, and the two speakers were toed-in toward the center listening seat, located about 10 feet from the speakers. I purchased these somewhat on blind faith, without actually listening to them. Generally, that would never happen in a million years, but this was going to be a highly visible addition to a bedroom flanked in vibrant grey and white.
